Resources
Unfortunately, the SRB does not offer a way for visitors to purchase food or drinks. However, the Health and Wellness department located on the first floor offers free tea and snacks during their hours of operation (Monday - Thursday: 9AM - 7PM, Friday: 9AM - 5PM).
We offer blue books at the front desk during midterms and finals week. The Health and Wellness department and EOP's cultural resource centers occasionally offer scantrons and blue books as well.
Menstrual products and condoms are available in the first floor bathrooms of the SRB and the Health and Wellness/Women's Center.
Unfortunately, the SRB no longer offers free COVID-19 tests. COVID-19 tests are available with a $5 fee through Student Health. Disposable face masks can be found at the SRB front desk.
Black-and-white printing is available on the first floor through GauchoPrint. The nearest color printer is at San Rafael residence hall.
We offer study space on the first floor of the SRB. When not in use, students are welcome to study in the CLAS classrooms on the third floor, as well as the conference rooms on the first and second floors.
The SRB has a Lost & Found with the SRB Front Desk. Once per week, all lost items are taken to the Lost & Found Office at North Hall. Please contact the Lost & Found Division through their website if your item is not at the SRB.
Space Reservations
We do not allow students to book spaces at the SRB for personal use. If you are interested in booking a study session on behalf of a campus organization, please complete our [space request form here].
If your event requires an exception form, please allow at least two weeks for your request to be processed. If your event does not require an exception form, we will attempt to process your request within 24 hours.
There are several common reasons why space request forms are rejected:
- Your space request form was filed outside of your registration window. Registered campus organizations can submit space request forms for each quarter beginning on the first day of instruction.
- Another organization has already reserved this space. Refer to our event calendars to ensure that the space your organization requested is still available.
- There will be food served at your event. Please submit an exception form if there will be cooked food at your event (prepackaged drinks and snacks do not require an exception form).
- The Multipurpose Room cannot be booked more than three times by a registered campus organization during a single quarter.
- No rooms except the Multipurpose Room can be booked during the weekend.
- No rooms except the Multipurpose Room can be booked on Friday after 6 PM.
The Multipurpose Room offers a projector, sound system, set of microphones and HDMI cable. The First Floor Conference Room and Second Floor Conference Room offer video monitors and HDMI cables.
The registration window for registered campus organizations opens on the first day of instruction for each quarter. As spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, many campus organizations submit space request forms as soon as this registration window opens. During this period of time, the SRB front desk receives an exceptionally high volume of space request forms and processing times can be significantly delayed. If your organization submitted a space request form at the beginning of the quarter, please wait a few days before resubmitting the form.
11 tables and 90 chairs are available for usage in the Multipurpose Room.
We do not allow tables and chairs to travel outside the MPR or First Floor Forum. A limited number of tables and chairs can be borrowed through Student Engagement & Leadership (SEAL). SEAL’s main office is located on the second floor (SRB 2260) and the SEAL Resource Center is located on the first floor (SRB 1103).
If you are required to submit an Exception Form for your space request, please follow the steps below:
- Registered campus organizations: submit your event for SEAL approval on Shoreline. Depending on the complexity of your event
